We offer a wide range of community participation support opportunities. The perfect engagement to increase physical, social and overall well-being. We are passionate about sport and recreation just like our clients.

We have a list of recreational activities and programs available to refresh their minds and their bodies and make their leisure time more interesting and enjoyable.

Some of the services we provide to get you or your client involved in the community includes the following:

  • Board games 
    Join like-minded participants for an afternoon full of sport-related board games in a relaxed and social environment. Whilst playing board games participants will be supported to problem solve, collaborate, learn and connect with others within the community.
  • Movie sessions
    Go with friends to see a Sensory Friendly Movie together, assisted by our friendly and qualified staff members. Participants will be able to experience an inclusive and safe space to watch a movie together with Sensory Friendly Movie Screenings delivering everyone’s favourite movies with the cinema lights turned up and the sound turned down. Audience members are also free to move around the theatre throughout the film.
  • Swimming 
    Take part in a swim program to learn and develop skills in the water. Our Swim Instructors and/or Physiotherapists ensure safety and water familiarisation is at the forefront of each session. A flexible learning environment with climbing frames, underwater platforms, slides and floating mats supports all abilities. Swimming can improve gross motor skills, social skills and physical exercise abilities.
  • Be part of a social group (form a club) 
    Join a group of participants with a common interest in sports. Our cares will encourage participants to discuss their favourite players, recent match highlights and get involved in sports trivia. It is a great opportunity for participants to meet and make new friends in a supportive environment.
  • Bowling 
    Strike! Take part in Tenpin Bowling in a fun and social environment. Bowling is a great activity for people with all abilities to improve health and wellbeing, improve relationships, and increase social and community participation.  Lane bumpers and ball ramps can assist to make the activity a positive and memorable experience.
  • Holiday program activities
    Join in on an extensive range of sport activities for kids to participate in during the school holidays. Participants are supported by staff to develop new skills including throwing, kicking, balance, game-sense, and technique in a friendly and supportive environment.  Our program aims to improve well-being and development based on personal needs and objectives.
  • Attending sporting events
    Attend sporting events, open training, local sport competitions, charity matches and/or club fates with our support workers. We provide support on public transportation or supply of all access vehicles if public transportation is not suitable to ensure safe and convenient transport to/from the event. Be part of an exciting atmosphere and meet like-minded people within the community.
  • Going to the gym 
    Be supported and guided through a personalised gym session to ensure your needs and goals are being met. Our qualified Personal Trainers and Exercise Physiologists will motivate and encourage participants to have fun whilst also focusing on improving key areas, through strength, conditioning, balance, flexibility, coordination and/or endurance.
  • Going out for lunch/dinner
    Participants are able to meet in a social setting where they are able to engage with a small group or have one on one time with carers or family members. We provide support on public transportation or supply of all access vehicles if public transportation is not suitable to ensure safe and convenient transport to/from the restaurant or cafe.
  • Volunteer work
    Volunteer within your local community to gain lifelong skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving, independence and self-confidence. Our carers will assist and supervise to ensure participants feel safe and supported in a new environment.
  • Visiting a park
    Visit a number of parks across the state where participants can enjoy a day outside in nature. Our carers will put together activities suited to the participants needs and abilities  including exploring the park landscape in a fun and educational way, leisurely walks and/or physical activity.
  • Going fishing 
    Enjoy a leisurely fishing day at a local fishing spot where they can experience the relaxation of being outdoors and practice their patience as they endeavour to find their catch of the day. Safety is our main priority and we instruct on proper technique, using equipment suited to each individual and their skill levels.
  • Learning to play an instrument
    Working with one of our qualified music therapists, we assist participants in learning how to play an appropriate instrument for their needs. We incorporate their love for sport by teaching songs and rhythms that match our “sounds of the game” theme which will instil enthusiasm by combining other interests of familiarity.
  • Bike riding
    Take part in beginner or recreational bike riding opportunities for participants who would like to get outdoors and on two wheels. We can guide new bike riders on how to ride their bike around their local track, or offer supervision and support to more confident riders throughout a program that will have them experiencing different tracks and challenges.
  • Visiting friends
    Interactions with friends are especially important for those with a disability, however may prove inaccessible to some. We provide support on public transportation, supply of all access vehicles if public transportation is not suitable, schedule and organisation of suitable times/locations with friends with focus on ongoing engagement and communication support where needed.
  • Visiting the beach 
    Visit a number of Accessible Beaches across the state where we can take our clients to enjoy a day in the sun and sand. Beach matting and floating Mobi-Chairs assist the process and allow everyone to participate in one of Australians favourite activities. While at the beach enjoy exploring the beach landscape, flora and fauna, participate in one on one or team beach sports, supervised ocean swimming and/or beach sand physical exercises.
  • Outings to cafe
    Participants are able to meet in a social setting, share a meal or coffee and engage with others whether in a group or one on one. Our program also provides an opportunity for like-minded sports fanatics to meet to discuss their favourite sports teams and their recent performances. Our carers will lead the discussion to engage with others, create a sense of community between participants and create networks of support.
  • Carnivals 
    Based on seasonal carnivals in the local area, our staff are able to assist participants in experiencing the atmosphere and fun of a local carnival with their peers. At a carnival you can expect guidance and support participating in carnival games and rides, transportation support and organisation of groups to attend carnivals together as a community.
  • Day programs
    Our sports day programs allow participants to meet up on a weekly basis throughout the sport season and contribute to their local sports community as a volunteer. The participants will be able to experience participation in fun sports games and drills, volunteering and assisting sports clubs on matches, and spectating and supporting local sports teams creating a sense of community.
  • Gym sessions
    Take part in individualised gym programs created and supervised by an accredited Personal Trainer and/or Exercise Physiologist to achieve your goals. Tailored exercises and sessions as a whole are created to ensure participant needs and objectives are met. Our qualified staff create a safe and welcoming environment so that participants feel comfortable at all times. 
  • Fitness classes
    Take part in individual or group classes outside of the gym. Parks and beaches are great spaces for participants to exercise outdoors. Our qualified Personal Trainer and/or Exercise Physiologist ensure sessions are personalised for everyone’s needs and abilities. It is a great opportunity to improve physical and mental wellbeing whilst interacting and having fun in a group setting. 
  • Team sports
    Join in one of our all abilities sport sessions which are run by our qualified staff in an inclusive environment where we can facilitate the conduction of sport sessions in a safe and positive space for everyone. Learn new skills, improve your fitness and make new friends in one of our weekly fun sport sessions.
  • Painting classes
    Draw, Paint or Colour In your favourite sporting heroes or whatever you feel like in one of our Art Therapy Classes! Run by our qualified art therapists, our art classes allow participants to relax and de-stress whilst expressing themselves through their art.
  • Dance classes
    Join in on one of our fun dance lessons, which offer both social and physical benefits. Our dance classes are run by our experienced and qualified dance instructors and cater to all abilities, where the main goal of every session is to have fun!
  • Walking groups
    Improve your fitness and mental health by joining one of our social walking groups run by our qualified staff. Walk to different locations, see and experience new places whilst developing your communication skills and making new friends at your own pace.
  • Visiting a museum
    Visit the Australian Sports Museum, where there is something for every sports lover out there to learn about Australia’s great sporting history and culture, combined with many fun interactive moments, and the opportunity to just PLAY!

(0136) Group Centred Activity Sessions

These group centred activity sessions are a great way to help increase social awareness and confidence. We provide participants with choices and access to a wide range of activities and life experiences that build on current skills and assist participants to learn new skills with a focus on personal safety. We offer the following group based programs:

Study skills training are courses which support people with disability to learn and gain valuable knowledge for everyday life to employment skills  

Individual skill and development courses assist participants with travel training, cooking skills, managing money, computer skills and more. 

We offer a variety of group recreational activities such as:

  • Gym sessions
    Take part in individualised gym programs created and supervised by an accredited Personal Trainer and/or Exercise Physiologist to achieve your goals. Tailored exercises and sessions as a whole are created to ensure participant needs and objectives are met. Our qualified staff create a safe and welcoming environment so that participants feel comfortable at all times. 
  • Fitness classes
    Take part in individual or group classes outside of the gym. Parks and beaches are great spaces for participants to exercise outdoors.
