At the Melbourne Sports Institute we believe that psychological support for a person living with a disability is a very important component for greater well being.

Psychology is both a science and a profession, devoted to understanding how people think, feel, behave and learn.

Many people who are living with disability access psychology services to help them to improve their social skills, to manage their behaviour, to learn how to build and enrich their relationships, and to learn a variety of coping mechanisms.

Psychology services are very broad and are not just used by those people who are affected by mental illness.

Psychologists assist individuals of all ages and capacities.

They get to know you on a personal level and work at your pace.

They’re curious as to how you’re feeling. Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? Are you worried about something? Are you afraid of social situations? Are you lonely? Do you have issues with family members or caregivers?

Your psychologist can assist you in dealing with these and other issues.

Your psychologist can also assist you in comprehending your emotions. They can educate you on how to identify and label your emotions. They can provide you with tools and instruct you on how to deal with various circumstances. They’ll assist you in working through any problems you’re having and help you celebrate your victories.

Melbourne Sports Institute Psychologists are actively registered Psychologists, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).

Our staff hold a wealth of experience in the profession and have been involved in both clinical supervision and professional development as required by APHRA.

Your NDIS psychologist will concentrate on your unique situation and objectives. They know that you are the centre of attention and will follow your lead.

When you work with a psychologist, we normally start by talking about what you want to accomplish.

We may work together to build a plan that includes your objectives, which will serve as the foundation for our collaboration.

These objectives are a fantastic method to track your progress, but they can always be altered as your needs and circumstances change during our time together.

The following are areas in which psychology has proven to aid NDIS participants:
